Comfy beds, good breakfast, good location for Dublin town centre close to dart station which was only ?6.50 return to Dublin and takes around 35 mins. Down side was a bit grubby in the bathroom, but as a hen party we didn`t spend much time in the rooms. Everywhere else clean.
Creeky floorboards. Fire alarm went off three times during night
Understaffed on reception and not much help from management for the lady on reception when problems arose with booking problems.
Lovely hotel very clean, good entertaiment, fab and friendly people, would definatly go back, the drink was very pricey though expecially the bottles of wine.
We enjoyed our stay. We arrived after an all-night flight from USA and would recommend a day at the Irish Sea to relax before running nonstop around Dublin. Of course, our weather was beautiful sunshine so we were lucky! Our only complaint was that we could not use the WiFi even though our devices said we were connected.
Poor experience, 1st room near air con vent like window open so asked to move to quiet roomgot one on top of kitchen vent, gave up at that stage, Tv not working, Cold Tap in bath not working. very faded and in need of revamp, clean as possible under conditions. Charge forcar park. other guests knocking on door during night and complaints for other guest of the same. Swimming pool and facilities very clean and well run.
Nice room and facilities. Bit noisy as at front of hotel and no double glazing on windows. Key cards kept having to be reset. Parking at hotel is 5 Euro a day even if you are staying at the hotel.
had a one night stay at this hotel. initially difficult to find car park, had to ring hotel for directions . perhaps this could be given in the hotel info. staff very friendly and helpful, morning breakfast was lovely. easy walk to bus and dart. room needed decorating but otherwise warm and clean. would stay here again.
Wifi is advertised across the hotel, this is not the case, had to ask for a different room as only a few of the rooms actually have WIFI. Several light bulbs not working and TV remote in the 1st room and toilet not working properly in the second room.Strange smell in the games room area!Food ok and staff friendly and helpful.
Hotel currently going through refurb, but overall still ok. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Leisure centre swimming pool was a hit with the kids, as was the games room. We had a family room, with the children having a separade room, so we had a restful time. Short walk to the beach and the dart station, with amenities very nearby. We would visit again.
Accommodation good Staff very pleasant and helpful. When we booked this room we asked to be in a room where we did not have to go up too many stairs, this request was not fulfilled. My wife has had two new hips renewed , so the room we had. been allocated was totally unsuitable. Also it was a long trek from lift to our accommodation. Also there was signs in the hotel that stipulated smart dress, this seemed to be ignored. Also signs saying no food to be brought in from outside, this was also ignored. Often take away food was left outside bedrooms half eaten over night. This was revolting to walk past and was still there in the morning. When we went for our breakfast. It was Stinking. We had a very enjoyable holiday, but will think very carefully before using yout hotel again.
The room wasn`t in great condition, single glazed and cold at night. Overall a tired feel throughout the hotel and there is certainly better value for money to be had and definately friendlier service. 100% would not recommend.
The staff at the royal hotel were just simply amazing! Nothing was too much for them to do,helpfulPolite and friendly, the hotel and staff made our weekend one of the best we have had! I would highly recommend Bray, and the royal hotel to all my friends and family well done all! Wish you all the very best. Thankyou Sharon and Elaine room 210.
Overall staff were very friendly and helpful with the exception of the bar staff, who seemed to spend more time stood at the end of the bar chatting to each other than serving drinks.
the reception staff were particularly helpful.the night porter went the `extra mile`
Would recommend hotel
Excellent service . Friendly staff , superb rooms
All aspects of the hotel were excellent, the staff most helpful and friendly, the food was very good and the rooms comfortable and clean.
Good location... close to beach and train. Hotel was clean, our room was spacious, and the staff is friendly and helpful. Take your walking shoes, room 142 is a long way from reception. The bar and restaurant are good value as well. Take your own blow dryer!
Fantastic room for my family break, plenty of room and fantastic facilities. This is my second stay and it wont be my last, all of the family are looking forward to the next visit
This was our second time staying and have to say its been the best. The family room was superb, will definitely be staying again.
Bedrooms are in need of a little refurbishment, which i believe to be a work in progress. Overall excellent value for money with the added bonus of free leisure facilities and WiFi. We enjoyed our stay.
10 out of 10 couldn`t be better!!
Lovely to have a swimming pool.Rooms could do with a fresh lick of paint.
Hotel nice and clean, as we`re bedrooms. Staff friendly and helpful at all times. Evening entertainment OK and tried to get residents involved. Downside as follows - breakfast chaotic with no-one seemingly in charge resulting in longer than acceptable wait for a table - all the brass plaques on all doors in need of a clean - Internet access too costly. My view is that Internet access is a must these days and prior to staying at the Royal we had stayed at 4 B & B` s all of which had free Internet access. To compound this, a couple of cafes and pubs nearby had free Internet access, as did McDonalds up the road.
At 1st seeing our room, impression was, this is nice. But the room was very warm, I had put in search engine for air con! The bathroom could do with a refit, as the Formica looks like seen better days, tiles want regrouting, but worst of all is the fact that although a sign says let hot water tap run, 20mins later still no hot water!!! Also corridors very nosey, no good for quite break away!!
Bray was having unprecedented numbers of visitors when I stayed at the Royal Hotel due to the Air Festival so it is probably a little unfair to say that it was really, really noisy made worse by the fact that it was very hot and I had to keep the window open all night. That said, the Royal delivers what you expect for the price you pay. The beds where very comfortable and the leisure centre is a real bonus. The bar staff work their legs off and are always pleasant and cheerful although it strikes me that the bar area is understaffed but I didn`t hear any of the staff complaining.
The staff we found to be very pleasant and helpful the room was nice but a bit tired the only major complaint would be the on-suite of the room that we stayed in needs a complete overhaul. The one time that we ate there was in the bar and the food was fine. Overall a pleasant stay except for the on-suite bathroom and plumbing.
I liked it so much, I`ve booked another week. Free use of the swimming pool is a real bonus. I`d definitely come back again
Good location rooms outstanding clean and massive breakfast was great lots to choose from. Leisure facility`s were great lots to do for us all a well enjoyed stay at the royal and would highly recommend it and stay there again 10 out of 10 in e wry thing
Overall, a very pleasant stay. Staff very polite and extremely helpful.
Fantastic time. Worth a visit again
Lovely ride on the Dart into Dublin at only five euros return. Nice to be able to go for beautiful walks along the coast. Location ideal if you are after a holiday wanting to see more than just Dublin itself. perfectly placed to do both. Looking for flights to go back as we speak. will book the same hotel but for longer.
My visit was all I could expect. I`ve stayed in many hotels in the UK, Ireland, and the Continent. My room here was very nice. There was a flat screen TV, coffee maker, telephone and all the standard amenities. I would have preferred a more firm mattress that did not sag but I was fine with what I got. I still slept well and do not wish to complain about the bed or anything else. The room was clean and housekeeping did a wonderful job.The people at the hotel were superb. Very friendly and helpful with all requests. The facilities available at the hotel were excellent. The restaurant and bar was warm and welcoming. Wireless internet worked well. I travel a good deal and expect fast and complimentary wi-fi wherever I stay.I would certainly consider staying here again.Thomas D StoutLangley, WA
Initially disappointed with allocated room (334) with its outdated decor, patched carpet, peeling wallpaper and noisy extractor fan outside window. Went to reception and explained disappointment with room and immediately Amy allocated us a new room (241) which was to a far higher speck and more modern. From here on throughout our stay everything else was brilliant, friendly staff, excellent food in bar and restaurant, live entertainment and great leisure facilities. Will return as Long as we are able to book a room the equivalent to room 241.
enjoyed our one night stay, early check in 3pm and room was close to Leisure spa which we enjoyed.
